The “Christmas Dash! New Taipei City Christmas Marathon Relay” will take place on Sunday, December 7, at the New Taipei City Hall Civic Plaza. As dawn breaks on race day, the dazzling Christmas lights of New Taipei Christmasland will illuminate Xianmin Boulevard, cheering on the runners as they race through the festive morning glow — the only time during the entire Christmasland season when the lights shine at sunrise.

Now in its second year, the race introduces a new three-person relay format, covering a total distance of 24.7 kilometers — making it easier for more teams to join the fun. Participants can choose between two categories: the Competitive Group, for those chasing speed and endurance, and the Costume Group, encouraging runners to showcase their creativity with festive outfits for double the fun.

This year’s event merchandise has also been upgraded, featuring a stylish and cozy beanie and the fan-favorite “Jingle Strap”, a giant bell-shaped baton that runners pass between teammates — filling the streets with joyful jingles and Christmas spirit.

The finisher medals are designed as interlocking pieces that, when combined by all three teammates, form a 3D Christmas tree, symbolizing teamwork, unity, and the shared joy of completing the challenge together.
