【New Taipei City News】During today’s (7th) council session, Councilor Lin Guochun mentioned that citizens had called expressing concern about whether The 2025 Christmasland in New Taipei City would be canceled, with some children even reportedly saddened to tears upon hearing the news. Yang Zongmin, Director of the New Taipei City Government Tourism Bureau, reassured the public that The 2025 Christmasland in New Taipei City will go on as planned, promising not to let any child cry! With even more dazzling lights and engaging experiences, the event will accompany visitors of all ages to celebrate the season, continuing the warmth and joy of the festivities and keeping this beloved winter memory for the city shining bright.


Since its inception, The 2025 Christmasland in New Taipei City has cultivated its unique charm through long-term development at a fixed location, showcasing the stories of New Taipei City and Banqiao. It has not only successfully created a vibrant festive atmosphere but has also become the most iconic Christmas event in Taiwan and gained international recognition. The event was once selected by the UK travel magazine Wanderlust as one of the “8 Most Breathtaking Christmas Trees in the World,” the only one in Asia to make the list. It was also named one of the “Top 10 Must-Visit Christmas Festivals Around the Globe” by Australia’s Urban List, and has received multiple Platinum and Gold awards in design competitions in France, London, New York, and Rome.Attracting over 7 million visitors annually and generating approximately NT$6 billion in economic benefits, the event continues to boost local business districts and the tourism industry, highlighting New Taipei City’s cultural creativity and international competitiveness.


The annual 2025 Christmasland in New Taipei City is about to shine once again! Now in its 15th year, Christmasland continues to capture attention with innovative designs and international-level production, showcasing New Taipei City’s unique festive charm and vibrant city spirit. According to the New Taipei City Government Tourism Bureau, Christmasland is not only a seasonal winter celebration but also an important city brand. It symbolizes the fusion of creativity and warmth, and has become a cherished tradition that residents and visitors alike look forward to every year.


This year’s event will officially open on Friday, November 14, with festive lights and installations currently being set up across New Taipei City Plaza, Banqiao Station Square, Wanping Park, and the Fuzhong Shopping Area to create a vibrant and dazzling Christmas atmosphere. In response to public concerns about a potential cancellation or traffic congestion, the City Government clarified that the event will proceed as scheduled. Comprehensive traffic management and crowd-control measures have already been activated to ensure a safe, smooth, and enjoyable experience for all visitors.


The New Taipei City Government Tourism Bureau stated that the Transportation, Police, and Tourism units have been working closely together to implement a series of traffic management measures. These include encouraging visitors to use public transportation, adjusting traffic signal timings, enforcing road controls and detours, temporarily suspending rentals at selected YouBike stations, setting up a traffic command center to monitor real-time crowd conditions, and utilizing mobile signaling data to analyze crowd flow and support evacuation responses. In addition, through diversified public messaging, the City is guiding visitors to travel by public transit, while the 45-day event period helps distribute visitor numbers and achieve time-staggered attendance.

The 2025 Christmasland in New Taipei City will kick off on Friday, November 14, lighting up the winter nights for 45 consecutive days and creating a warm, enchanting holiday atmosphere.
