【New Taipei City News】The highly anticipated “The 2025 Christmasland in New Taipei City” officially kicked off tonight (Nov. 14) with the spectacular “Christmasland Opening Event,” marking the grand start of the circus-themed festivities! The Opening Show dazzled the audience with a magical circus performance, blending dazzling lights and impressive acrobatics to create a vibrant and joyful holiday atmosphere. Cheerleading goddess Li Ya-ying and the popular LINE FRIENDS character Cony made a surprise appearance, warmly interacting with New Taipei City Mayor Hou You-yi, sparking enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. Following this, Mayor Hou, together with heads of various departments and distinguished guests, conducted the official lighting ceremony, launching the 45-day Christmas celebration. The surrounding dazzling light displays simultaneously illuminated, ushering in the most colorful and radiant opening of The 2025 Christmasland in New Taipei City!


This year, the “2025 Christmasland in New Taipei City” has teamed up with the globally renowned IP “LINE FRIENDS & LINE FRIENDS minini” to create a playful, heartwarming, and colorful annual Christmas celebration. Tonight (Nov. 14), the festivities kicked off with the Christmasland Opening Event,” illuminating the Christmas tree symbolizing dreams and joy—the “Happy Circus Tent”—along with surrounding themed installations and dazzling lights! Echoing the “Circus Carnival” theme, the event also featured the special performance “Dreams Take Flight: Flying Circus,” inspired by the concept of “dreams taking flight.” The show combined giant inflatable hot air balloon installations, aerial silk acrobatics, interactive circus parades, and visual light dance performances, creating Taiwan’s only dual-axis “air × ground” interactive show. Audiences were immersed in the circus carnival atmosphere, experiencing the unique charm and excitement of the circus in a fully immersive way.


The internationally acclaimed 3D projection mapping show also made its grand debut tonight (Nov. 14), meticulously designed by a projection team from Singapore. Using delicate light and shadow techniques, LINE FRIENDS characters come to life on the exterior wall of the City Hall, transforming the building into a magical circus. This year, the projection show specially integrates the second-floor corridor LEDs and the Christmas tree “Fun Circus Tent” for a coordinated performance, creating a fully immersive, dynamic, and stunning audiovisual experience.The first projection story begins with Brown and Cony sending messages to each other. As the countdown rings out, Brown and Cony jump into the world of messages, and each LINE FRIENDS character makes an appearance, connecting heartwarming moments of fun and memories with friends. The show captures seemingly small yet precious moments in modern social interactions—every message, every heart, conveying love and blessings. During this important Christmas season, no matter the distance, joy and wishes can cross screens and reach each other’s hearts.Starting today, the show will run daily from 5:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with performances every hour and half-hour lasting about five minutes. Everyone is warmly invited to experience the joyful moments of the Christmas circus together.


New Taipei City Tourism and Travel Department also specially reminds the public that large crowds are expected during the event period and encourages the use of public transportation such as TRA trains, THSR, buses, intercity coaches, and MRT to reach the event venues.
