“Chasing Christmas—New Taipei City Christmas Marathon Relay” is one of the main events of New Taipei City Christmasland and is held for the first time this year. Combined with Christmas elements, and is full of the happy atmosphere of Christmas, it will be the most exciting, joyful and fun road running event at the end of this year! The event will start on December 22nd, 2024, and the registration is only available until October 11th. With the new theme, the new plan and the new competition, those who have not caught up yet, hurry up and register! The Relay is divided into two categories: “Competition Group” and “Fantasy Costume Group” and the total number of teams is 666. The number is limited, so hurry up and sign up! " Chasing Christmas—New Taipei City Christmas Marathon Relay " continues the spirit and character of the "chasing" in train chasing. Through teamwork relay, it encourages runners to team up and travel around New Taipei in a running-traveling style. Each team has 5 members, and each member is responsible for 5 to 6 kilometers. It is more applicable for the public and light runners to participate. The first leg starts from the main venue of Christmasland. In the beginning, the snowflake machine will sprinkle white snow, allowing the runners to enjoy the snowy Christmas as if they are in the Nordic snow country. They pass through the County Avenue and the Huacui Bridge, and then turn into Watergate and enter Riverside Park. Along the way, runners can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Dahan River. Then, the fifth legs return to the Civic Square to complete the relay. The whole marathon is about 28 kilometers. Runners can take the Christmas bell as relay tokens, transforming into Santa Claus to give blessings to others. When handing over the relay token to the next runner, it is not only full of fun, but also symbolizes the passing on of blessings. It not only enhances the international visibility of New Taipei City, but also makes the "New Taipei Christmasland" brand famous internationally. The "French Design Award" is a well-known international design award established by the "International Awards Association" (IAA). It looks for outstanding creative works from designers around the world and evaluates them in five design categories: architecture, concept, interior, packaging, and product. The award attracts more than a thousand works from more than 30 countries or regions including the United States, Japan, Italy, mainland China, Australia and Poland. Among them, the "New Taipei City Christmasland” hosted by the New Taipei City Government won the Global Platinum Award. The "2023 New Taipei City Happy Christmasland", which was held from November 17, 2023 to January 1, 2024, taking "Santa Bear and Friends" as its theme with four childlike-fun and sweet light zones. Over the past few years, many tourists visited the events and had chances to learn more about Banqiao District. The “Christmasland event” also boosted the economy of the surrounding business district. Director Yang Zongmin of New Taipei City Tourism and Travel Department said, “New Taipei City Christmasland” event enters its 14th years, and it has already become one of the most representative Christmas events in Taiwan. With gratitude and supports of the government and local teams and partnerships are the reasons we can stand out and win 2024 French Design Award.
