New Taipei City annual Christmasland is officially started on Nov. 15th. The magical lighting devices and decorations will light up New Taipei City for the following 48 days. To promote second-hand goodies use and recycling spirit, the Environmental Protection Department of New Taipei City will host "Old Love Magic New Love" second-hand goodies collection” flea market charity event at New Taipei City Plaza during 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 28th. Starting from today till December 20th, Environmental Protection Department of New Taipei City starts the “second-hand goodies collection summoning order” and invites people to bring secondhand items which are still in good shape and function to join this event. People can give the items to New Taipei Cleaning Team’s resource recycling trucks, or to the “Goods Window” of cleaning teams at each district. Let old treasures become someone else's new favorites, extending the life cycle of second-hand items and creating a cycle of love. Environmental Protection Department states that the second-hand items currently being collected include toys, clothes (excluding underwear and damaged clothes), bags, books (excluding newspapers, time-limited periodicals, and magazines), small appliances, small furniture, and bicycles all in good condition. Environmental Protection Department also points out that “second-hand goodies collection” flea market charity event has entered its 10th year, and each year attracts a lot of people to join. Last year, the event was so popular and more than 200,000 people responded, making it the biggest charity flea market event in Taiwan. Starting from the first year of the event till now, it has accumulated NT$8 million in charity sales, and all the money has been given to New Taipei City Love Platform. The money is used to help disadvantage groups, allowing people to pass their love forward. The Environmental Protection Bureau added that the theme for this year will be "Ten Picks for You". With a total of 40 second-hand goods charity stalls set up, hoping to give more people opportunities to find their favorite goods. Everyone is welcome to participate in the event.
